IV Sedationist and Consultant in Special Care Dentistry

Damien has spent more than two decades caring for anxious, phobic and medically complex patients. He holds a Diploma in Conscious Sedation and works as a visiting IV sedationist with independent dental practices across London, providing calm, carefully monitored sedation so patients can have the treatment they need in comfort.

His background is in Special Care Dentistry, and he also holds a consultant post at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. That experience of treating patients with complex medical needs underpins the careful assessment and safety at the heart of his sedation practice. He has also taught sedation at the Royal London and Guy’s hospitals. 

At Marylebone Smile Clinic, Damien speaks to each patient beforehand to go through their medical history and answer any questions. On the day, he manages and monitors their sedation throughout, so they can relax while their dentist focuses on their treatment.
