Full Mouth Dental Implants in London

Fixed, natural-looking teeth for people who have lost most or all of their teeth, or whose teeth are failing. Planned and placed by Dr Sahil Patel at our Harley Street clinic.

What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?

Full mouth dental implants replace all the teeth in one or both jaws with new teeth that are fixed to implants in the jawbone. Instead of an implant for every tooth, a full arch of teeth is usually held by four to six implants, which keeps surgery, healing time and cost down. For single and multiple tooth replacement, see our main Dental Implants London page.

Full mouth implants are an option if you are missing most of your teeth, have several failing or loose teeth, or wear a denture that slips, rubs or stops you eating the foods you enjoy. Unlike a denture, fixed implant teeth do not cover the roof of your mouth and do not come out at night.

Your Full Mouth Implant Options

All-on-4 Dental Implants

A fixed bridge of around 10 to 12 teeth held on four implants per jaw. The back two implants are angled to make the most of the available bone, which often avoids the need for bone grafting. Read more about All-on-4 dental implants.

All-on-6 Dental Implants

The same idea with six implants per jaw. The extra implants spread the biting force and give more support, which can suit the upper jaw, people with a strong bite and longer bridges. Read more about All-on-6 dental implants.

Implant-Supported Dentures

A removable denture that clips onto two to four implants, so it stays firmly in place when you eat and speak. It costs less than fixed teeth and is a good option if you are happy with a denture but want it to stop moving.

Individual Implants and Bridges

Where there is plenty of bone, a full arch can be rebuilt with eight or more implants supporting smaller bridges or individual crowns. This is the closest to having natural teeth, but needs the most bone, the most surgery and the biggest budget.

Full Mouth Dental Implants Cost

Full arch dental implants at Marylebone Smile Clinic start from £12,000 per jaw, and from £20,000 for both jaws. The price varies with the number of implants you need. Our full arch fees are all-inclusive, covering your consultation and 3D scan, extractions, temporary teeth while you heal, your final bridge and review visits. Your exact fee is confirmed once we have your CBCT scan, and set out in a written treatment plan before any treatment starts.

TreatmentPrice
Full arch implants (one jaw)from £12,000
Full mouth implants (both jaws)from £20,000
Bone graftfrom £995 per site

Across London, advertised full arch prices range from under £6,000 to over £15,000 per jaw. The difference often comes down to what is included. When comparing quotes, check whether the price covers extractions, the CT scan, temporary teeth while you heal, and the final bridge material, as some clinics charge extra for a zirconia bridge. Treatment can be spread with 0% finance over up to 24 months, or over up to 60 months with interest, subject to status. See our dental implant cost guide for more on pricing.

Are You Suitable for Full Mouth Implants?

You may be suitable if you:

  • Have lost most or all of your teeth in one or both jaws
  • Have several loose, broken or failing teeth that cannot be saved
  • Wear a full or partial denture that is loose or uncomfortable
  • Are in good general health, or any conditions such as diabetes are well controlled

Bone loss does not automatically rule you out. Angled implants in All-on-4 are designed to use the bone that remains, and bone grafting can rebuild bone where needed. Smoking, gum disease and uncontrolled diabetes raise the risk of complications and are discussed openly at your consultation. Patients with severe bone loss in the upper jaw may need specialist techniques.

Full Mouth Implants After Treatment Abroad

Many of the full mouth patients we see have had treatment abroad, often known as Turkey teeth, and are now having problems with it. Where the remaining teeth cannot be saved, full arch implants can give you a fixed, stable set of teeth that is planned to last. Read our guide to Turkey teeth to learn more about the risks of dental tourism.

The Treatment Process

1. Consultation and 3D Scan

We examine your mouth, bite and smile line and take a CBCT scan to measure your bone. We talk through every option that is possible for you and give you a written plan with full costs.

2. Planning Your New Teeth

Your new teeth are designed before surgery, so we can plan the shape, length and shade with you and position the implants to support them.

3. Implant Surgery

Any failing teeth are removed and the implants are placed under local anaesthetic. IV sedation is available if you are nervous. It keeps you awake but deeply relaxed, and is provided by experienced sedationists including Dr Damien Reilly, a Consultant in Special Care Dentistry. Where it is suitable, fixed temporary teeth are fitted on the day of surgery. If an immediate temporary is not suitable for you, we make a temporary denture for you to wear while the implants heal.

4. Healing

The implants bond with your jawbone over around 12 weeks. You eat a soft diet at first and attend review visits so we can check healing.

5. Your Final Teeth

Around 3 to 4 months after surgery, your final teeth are fitted. Your final bridge is made from a titanium bar with zirconia over it. It is screwed to the implants, so it does not come out at home, but we can remove it for professional cleaning.

Living With Full Mouth Implants

Fixed implant teeth are cleaned every day with a soft toothbrush, interdental brushes and a water flosser, and checked at regular hygiene visits. Most people adjust to eating and speaking with their new teeth within a few weeks. Looked after well, full arch implants can last for many years, although the bridge itself may need repairs or replacing over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do full mouth dental implants cost in the UK?

Full mouth dental implants in the UK typically cost from around £6,000 to over £15,000 per jaw, depending on the number of implants, the bridge material and what the quote includes. At Marylebone Smile Clinic, full arch implants start from £12,000 per jaw and from £20,000 for both jaws, with your exact fee set out in a written treatment plan.

How many implants do you need for a full mouth?

Most people need four to six implants per jaw for fixed full mouth teeth, so eight to twelve implants for both jaws. An implant-supported denture can use as few as two implants per jaw.

Can you get full mouth dental implants on the NHS?

Full mouth dental implants are only available on the NHS in rare cases, such as after mouth cancer, serious injury or for some people born without teeth. Most people have full mouth implants privately.

Can I have full mouth implants if I have bone loss?

Yes, many people with bone loss can still have full mouth implants. All-on-4 uses angled implants to make the most of the remaining bone, and bone grafting can rebuild bone where needed. Your 3D scan shows which options are possible.

Do full mouth implants feel like real teeth?

Full mouth implant teeth are fixed in place, so they feel far more like natural teeth than a denture. They do not cover the roof of your mouth, which helps you taste food and speak naturally. Most people adjust within a few weeks.

Do full mouth implants come with a guarantee?

Yes, full arch implant work is covered by our 5-year guarantee. It depends on attending a review appointment within 8 weeks of completion, wearing a night guard where advised, and keeping up regular hygienist visits and yearly check-ups with us. See our fees page for the full terms.

Are full mouth dental implants worth it?

For many people, full mouth implants are worth it because they replace a loose denture or failing teeth with fixed teeth that let them eat, speak and smile with confidence. They cost more upfront than dentures, but they do not need replacing as often and help preserve the jawbone.
