In London, a single dental implant typically costs between around £2,500 and £5,500 per tooth. The final figure depends on what the quote includes, how many teeth are being replaced and whether you need extra treatment, such as bone grafting, before the implant is placed.
A complete implant tooth is made up of several parts: the 3D scan used to plan treatment, the implant placed in the jawbone, the abutment that connects it to the new tooth and the crown you see when you smile. Some clinics quote for every part. Others quote for the implant alone and charge separately for the rest, which is why headline prices can be hard to compare.
This guide explains what each part of the cost covers, what can change the price and the questions to ask when comparing quotes. For reference, a single implant at Marylebone Smile Clinic starts from £3,495, including the consultation, 3D scan, custom abutment and ceramic crown.

What Is Included in the £3,495 Price?
Our single implant price covers every stage of replacing one tooth, from planning to the final crown:
- Implant consultation and 3D cone beam CT (CBCT) bone scan
- Placement of the implant fixture
- A custom implant connection (abutment)
- A bespoke, colour-matched ceramic crown
- A 5-year guarantee on your implant work
Each part matters. The abutment is made for your mouth rather than taken off the shelf. This helps the crown sit at the right angle and the gum settle naturally around it. The crown is colour matched to your neighbouring teeth, so it blends in with your smile.

What Can Change the Cost of Your Implant?
The £3,495 price covers a straightforward single implant. Some patients need extra treatment first, and your dentist will explain this at your consultation.
Bone Grafting
When a tooth is lost, the jawbone around it can shrink over time. If there is not enough bone to hold an implant securely, a bone graft rebuilds it first. Bone grafts are priced from £995 per site. Small grafts placed at the same time as the implant, straight after an extraction, are the simplest. Larger grafts use a membrane that stays in place for nine months or more. Read more about bone grafting in London.
Gum Grafting
A healthy, thick collar of gum around an implant helps protect it and keeps the result looking natural. Where the gum is thin or receding, we can strengthen it with a graft, priced from £995 per site. A gum recession graft is priced from £2,495. Find out more about dental implants with receding gums.
How Many Teeth You Are Replacing
Each implant tooth starts from £3,495. If you are missing several teeth next to each other, you may not need an implant for every tooth, as two implants can support a bridge. For a full arch, a fixed bridge sits on a small number of implants. Multiple implants are priced from £3,495 per tooth and full arch treatment starts from £12,000, with your exact fee set out in your treatment plan.
Extractions and Immediate Implants
Where it is suitable, we can place your implant on the same day a damaged tooth is removed. This can reduce the number of procedures you need and shorten your overall treatment time. When the tooth is removed and the implant is placed in the same appointment, the extraction is included in the price. More complex extractions are assessed and priced at your consultation.
How Do London Implant Prices Compare?
Implant prices in London vary widely, and the lowest headline price is not always the lowest final bill. When you compare quotes, check what each one actually includes:
- Is the CBCT scan included, or charged separately?
- Is the abutment custom made or a stock part?
- What material is the crown made from?
- How long is the guarantee, and what does it cover?
- Who plans and places the implant, and can you see their previous implant cases?
At Marylebone Smile Clinic, the 3D CBCT scan is always included, every abutment is custom made in titanium or zirconia, and our crowns are zirconia layered with porcelain. Implant work is covered by our 5-year guarantee, and Dr Sahil Patel carries out every implant himself. You can see examples of his work in our dental implant smile gallery.
Why Cheaper Implants Can Cost More in the Long Run
We regularly see patients who have had implants abroad or at a low price, and some need corrective treatment. Common problems include implants placed at the wrong angle, which makes them hard to keep clean, and crowns that do not fit well against the gum.
Over time, these issues can lead to gum and bone loss around the implant. Fixing them often means removing the implant, grafting bone and starting again, which costs far more than getting it right the first time. Read our guide to Turkey teeth to learn more about the risks of dental tourism.
Our approach is to carry out treatment once, to a high standard. Careful planning with a 3D scan, precise placement and good home care give your implant the best chance of lasting for many years.
Does the Implant Brand Affect the Price?
The implant system your dentist uses is one part of the overall cost. At Marylebone Smile Clinic we use Straumann and Southern Implants, Swiss and South African systems backed by decades of clinical research. Premium systems cost more than budget alternatives, but they also come with long-term evidence and widely available replacement parts.

Can You Spread the Cost of Dental Implants?
Yes. We work with several lenders, so you can spread the cost of your implant treatment. Interest-free (0%) finance is available over up to 24 months, and longer terms of up to 60 months are also available with interest. You can get a same-day answer when you apply.
We also offer a 5% discount for NHS staff, the Armed Forces, students and the emergency services. Discounts cannot be combined with other offers or with finance.
Finance is available subject to status. Dufresne Limited trading as Marylebone Smile Clinic is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority with Financial Services Register number 967420.
Can You Get Dental Implants on the NHS?
Dental implants are only available on the NHS in limited cases where there is a clear clinical need, such as after mouth cancer or a serious injury to the face or jaw. Most people who want implants have them privately. If implants are not right for you, your dentist can also talk you through alternatives such as bridges and dentures. Our guide to replacing missing teeth compares the options.
What Happens at Your Implant Consultation?
Your consultation is where you find out exactly what your treatment involves and what it will cost. It includes:
- A full check of your teeth, gums and bite
- A 3D CBCT scan to measure the height and width of your jawbone
- A discussion of your options, including implants, bridges and dentures
- A written treatment plan with your full costs
Your implant consultation costs £150, which is deducted from your treatment fee if you go ahead.

Your Implant Dentist
Our lead implant dentist, Dr Sahil Patel, graduated from Bristol Dental Hospital and specialises in advanced procedures including dental implants, bone grafting and gum grafting. He is an Accredited member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD), an accreditation that requires a portfolio of cases replacing both front and back teeth to a high cosmetic standard.
That focus on aesthetics shapes every implant he places, from colour matching the crown to shaping the gum so the new tooth blends in with your natural teeth. See more about dental implants in London at our Harley Street clinic.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a single tooth implant cost in London?
A single tooth implant at Marylebone Smile Clinic costs from £3,495. This all-inclusive price covers your consultation, 3D CBCT scan, implant, custom abutment and colour-matched ceramic crown. Across London, single implant prices typically range from around £2,500 to £5,500, but not every quote includes the scan, abutment and crown.
How much do 2 dental implants cost?
Two dental implants replacing two separate teeth start from £6,990, as each implant tooth starts from £3,495. If the two teeth sit next to each other, an implant-supported bridge may also be suitable. Your exact fee is confirmed in your written treatment plan.
Is the CT scan included in the dental implant price?
Yes, the 3D CBCT scan is included in our dental implant price, along with your implant consultation. The scan shows the height and width of your jawbone so your dentist can plan the exact position of the implant.
Do dental implants come with a guarantee?
Yes, implant work at Marylebone Smile Clinic is protected by a 5-year guarantee. The guarantee depends on attending a review appointment within 8 weeks of completion, wearing a night guard or removable retainers where advised, and keeping up regular hygienist visits and yearly health checks with us. Accidental damage, neglect, gum recession and treatment carried out by other clinicians are not covered. If the conditions are not met, the guarantee reduces to 1 year, and it does not apply while there is an outstanding balance on your account. See our fees page for the full terms.
Are dental implants worth the cost?
Dental implants usually cost more upfront than a bridge or denture, but they replace the root of the tooth as well as the crown. That helps preserve the jawbone, avoids filing down neighbouring teeth and gives you a fixed tooth that looks and works like a natural one. With good care, implants can last for many years.
Why are dental implants cheaper abroad?
Dental implants abroad are often cheaper because of lower overheads, shorter treatment timescales and fewer follow-up visits. The trade-off is that complications can be harder to manage once you are home. We regularly see patients needing corrective treatment after implants abroad, which can cost more than having treatment done once in the UK.
